Anhydrous Borax for Forge Welding

Description

This Anhydrous Borax is excellent for forge welding steel. When applied, it forms a highly protective layer that absorbs impurities and prevents the oxidation of the steel. Oxidation often leads to scales on the surface that can stop the metal from welding.

• Stays where it is placed on the steel. Waters of crystallisation in standard borax cause it to boil and fall away from the workpiece
• Enters seams much faster as it begins to liquefy earlier, skipping the steaming phase. This greatly reduces scale in welds and uses less borax
