Description
Chrome Tan Pigmented Black Leather Panel 1.5mm is a bovine leather that has been chrome tanned and pigmented black. It has a shiny finish and is very supple, perfect for lining, soft bags or draw string pouches.
Chrome tanned leather is tanned using chromium salts, primarily chromium sulfate. It is a modern and widely used tanning method known for its efficiency and speed in producing soft, supple leather. Chrome tanning typically results in leather that is more uniform in color and texture compared to vegetable-tanned leather.
Pigmented leather is finished with a top coat of pigment (or paint). That pigment helps provide an even surface on the leather and also a protective coating. Pigmented leather is often coated with a clear protective sealer to help protect the pigment layer.
