Description

Kalderum Blades San Mai Coppermascus/Damascus Steel Bar with “Flames” Pattern *K002. Made with a 105WCr6 (1.2419, Tungsten Alloyed) and 75ni8 Damascus core, and a low layer coppermascus cladding in a “flames” pattern. This bar has been straightened, fine-grained, normalized and soft-annealed, as well as chemically descaled.

Dimensions are approx. 290 x 35 mm and 4.2mm thick. (dimensions are slightly smaller than the actual pieces, as 1-2 mm of the edge area is unusable)

This is a unique one-off piece of steel made by Kalderum Blades from Austria.

Heat treatment instructions:

Heat steel at 830ºC for 10 minutes then Oil quench. Tempter at 170-200ºC for two hours, twice.

These instructions are also supplied with the steel bar.
