Description

San Mai steel bar stock, with a core layer of Hitachi Blue Paper No. 2 high carbon steel, and low carbon steel outer layers.

Hitachi Blue Paper No. 2 steel core is tougher then White Paper so it is ideal for knives in hard use applications such as edc knives.

This three layer steel billet is 3.47 x 33 x 344 mm. It can be ground to shape as is or forged.
San Mai has a fairly simple heat treat and may be quenched in either water or oil. See here (page 2) for Heat Treat Instructions.
