Description
Desert Tan G10 Sheets and Liner Material, available in multiple thicknesses and sizes.
Used as a liner between a knife’s tang and handle scales for a thin strip of contrasting or complimentary colour. It can also help even out any variation of expansion or contraction in natural handle material like wood or bone. Thicker material is mainly used for scales and blocks.
Available in 8 Thicknesses and in 2 sizes – full sheets (305 x 340mm) and half sheets (130 x 305mm):
- 0.5mm
- 1mm
- 1.5mm
- 2mm
- 3.5mm
- 5mm
- 8mm
- 10mm
Features and Benefits
- Hard, dense, stable and wear resistant composite material made from layers of glass fibre laminated together with resin
- Makes for an extremely durable knife handle material and is commonly used on production knives, especially modern folding knives
- Can be finished with texture for grip or sanded to 600 grit then buffed to a fine polish revealing the very fine chatoyant layers of glass fibre
- Approximately twice as heavy as wood and 35% heavier than micarta
Note: dust protection is a must when cutting, grinding and sanding G10 as the dust produced will contain small glass fibres.
